Review: Is the Wolfbox G900 Pro the Ultimate Van Visibility Hack?

Hey everyone, Matt here from AVC, and welcome back to the blog!

Today we’re doing something a little different. We’re moving away from the cabinetry and power systems for a moment to talk about a piece of tech that has become a staple in almost every build we do: the Wolfbox G900 Pro dash cam and rearview mirror.

Full disclosure: Wolfbox reached out to us to do this review, but it was an easy "yes." Why? Because I’ve been using this exact camera in my personal van for over a year and a half—and I paid full price for mine long before they ever emailed us. We’ve since installed over a dozen of these for customers.

If you’ve ever tried to back up a fully built-out camper van with window shades drawn, you know the struggle. Let’s dive into why this has become our go-to solution.

The Problem: Van Blind Spots

When you build out a van, your factory rearview mirror usually becomes a glorified vanity mirror. Between the internal cabinetry, the gear hauler layout, and the rear window shades, seeing what’s behind you is nearly impossible.

The Wolfbox G900 Pro replaces that useless reflection with a live-view high-definition video feed. * Crystal Clear View: It uses a rear-mounted camera to show exactly what’s happening behind you in real-time.

  • Wider Perspective: It’s much clearer than a standard mirror and covers a wider angle, making highway merges and parking way less stressful.

  • Peace of Mind: Beyond the visibility, it’s a dual-channel dash cam. If something happens on the road, you have the footage to prove what actually went down.

What’s in the Box?

The G900 Pro comes as a complete kit, and the hardware is surprisingly beefy.

  • 12-Inch Touchscreen: This unit rubber-bands right over your existing rearview mirror. It’s intuitive and responsive.

  • 2.5K Rearview Camera: Weatherproof and designed to be mounted outside (we usually mount ours to the back of the roof rack).

  • GPS Module: This tracks your location and speed.

Pro Tip: If you’re running oversized tires like I am (245/75/16), your factory speedometer is probably off by about 10%. The Wolfbox GPS gives me an accurate reading of my actual speed.

  • Power Options: It comes with a standard cigarette lighter plug, but they also offer an OBD2 power port which makes triggering "Parking Mode" a breeze without hunting through fuse panels.

Real-World Features We Love

1. Digital Pan and Tilt

One of the coolest features is the ability to swipe the screen to pan the camera up or down. If I’m towing my snowmobile trailer, I can tilt the view down to make sure my gear is still secure. On the highway, I swipe up for a long-distance view of traffic.

2. Voice Commands

You can operate the unit hands-free. If you see something crazy happen, just say, "Lock the video," and it will save that clip in a protected folder so it doesn't get recorded over. You can also say "Show front camera" or "Show rear camera" to toggle views instantly.

3. Smart App Integration

The G900 Pro has a 5G companion app. You don't have to faff around with pulling the tiny SD card out. You can download 200MB video clips directly to your phone in seconds to share on social media or send to insurance.

4. Parking Monitor

If someone bumps your van or messes with your bikes while you're away, the internal G-sensor triggers the camera to start recording automatically. It’s that extra layer of security every van owner wants.

The Verdict

Whether you are rock crawling in Moab or navigating I-25 traffic in Colorado, the G900 Pro is a game-changer for van safety. It’s high-resolution (no grainy 1080p footage here), easy to install, and actually serves a dual purpose as both a safety device and a driving aid.
