Transit Capsules
Transit capsules expand the interior width of Ford Transit vans to nearly 80 inches. That allows most occupants 6'3"+ to sleep east-to-west across the van. AVC RIG carries these Vanspeed capsules for Transit builders.
Why Choose Transit Capsules
This sideways sleeping layout frees up valuable interior space. It lets you install true horizontal beds while keeping Vanspeed's platform-specific structural design.
A bed that runs east-to-west uses less of the van's length. That leaves more room for a galley, cabinets or a gear garage. The added interior width is what makes a sideways bed work for taller people.
Planning Your Build Around Transit Capsules
Capsules change the shape of your side walls, so plan for them early. Settle your bed layout before you order walls, windows and trim.
- Pick your sleeping direction first. East-to-west sleeping is the main reason to add capsules.
