Ford Transit Pill Window Cut Template Paper Pattern
This full-size Transit pill window template makes it easy to install your CRL AW1033 or 1033 slider windows in a Ford Transit.
Why Use the Transit Pill Window Template
By standardizing our cut location across all builds, our precut wall kit and Innie sleeper can be mounted seamlessly with the windows. Cut your slider windows at the same spot we do, and the parts that go in after line up. Those with a large printer or CNC router can also use this cut template for installation.
Alternatively, we offer this template as a free digital download.
Parts That Line Up With This Cut Template
- Precut wall kit: Ford Transit High Roof 148 wood wall kit
- Innie sleeper: Ford Transit innie sleeper pair
- Wall and ceiling layout: Ford Transit paper patterns for walls and ceiling
How to Mark the Cut
Our bunk window install guide walks through the full job. Here are the template steps from that post.
- Remove any internal metal ribs in the way first. We use an oscillating multi-tool.
- We place bunk windows high in the van and as far back as possible. That spot works well for a bed or lounge area.
- Set the template right up against the pinch weld at the top and back.
- Hold a Sharpie flat against the template edge and trace the whole shape. That small offset gives clearance for the window's outer ring.
- Re-measure to confirm the shape before you cut. Measure twice, cut once.
After the Cut
Test fit the window, then prime all raw metal edges right away to prevent rust. Set the screws with a hand Phillips screwdriver, not an impact gun. Over-tightening is what causes ripples along the bottom edge of the metal.
Plan your slider windows with the Transit pill window template before you order your wall kit. Printing it yourself? The same cut template works as a digital file on a large printer or CNC router, so every Transit pill window template cut matches ours.
