Victron Lynx Smart BMS Details
- Open box
- 12, 24, or 48 volts
We ended up using a different BMS in a van system. This one has been collecting dust on the shelf. If your build runs at 12, 24 or 48 volts, this Victron Lynx Smart BMS may be a good fit.
Check the full specs and manuals at Victron Energy before you buy. That will confirm the BMS matches your battery bank and volts.
What the Victron Lynx Smart BMS Does
Victron makes this BMS for its own Lithium Battery Smart (LiFePO4) batteries, in 12.8V or 25.6V. Victron calls it a dedicated BMS for those batteries. It is part of Victron's modular Lynx distribution system, with M10 busbar connections.
- Built-in contactor as a safety fallback and remote main switch (Victron sells 500A and 1000A versions)
- Battery monitor with state of charge
- Pre-alarm before a shutdown, for example from a low cell
- Allowed-to-charge and allowed-to-discharge ports to control chargers and loads
- AUX output and a programmable relay
- Bluetooth setup with the VictronConnect app
- VE.Can port for a GX device such as a Cerbo GX
- Supply range: 9 to 60 VDC
Sizing Your System
Victron rates one Lynx Smart BMS for up to 20 Lithium Smart batteries. That is up to 84 kWh on a 12V bank, or 102 kWh at 24V or 48V. The 500A version measures 190 x 180 x 80 mm and weighs 1.9 kg. The 1000A version is 230 x 180 x 100 mm and 2.7 kg. Its contactor handles 500A or 1000A continuous, with a short 5-minute overload rating above that.
Specs are from the Lynx Smart BMS product page and the Lynx Smart BMS datasheet. Ask us which contactor version this open box unit is.
