Do You Need the Side Step Curved Tube Support?

If you have BOTH a factory AC and an AUX heater, you will need the additional curved tube support part to properly install your side steps.

If your Sprinter has only one of those, or neither, the standard brackets that come with your side steps are the ones to use. Check under your van before you order.

How to Check Your Van

The Van Mart's bracket page shows what to look for. A factory heater upgrade shows a silver pipe on the driver side. A factory AC upgrade shows a silver pipe on the passenger side. See both, and you need this bracket.

In the Vanspeed Sprinter side steps install video, the obstruction and this part are covered at 9:50. The side steps fit Sprinter 144 and 170 from 2008 on. On 2008-2012 models, check under the passenger rear cargo area for the old DEF tank location. Vanspeed says the steps will not work on those vans.
