Mill Specs and Durability
Heyward is a KB Contract fabric. The mill's spec page adds these details for the Heyward upholstery fabric:
- Abrasion: 100,000+ double rubs
- Flammability: passes CAL TB 117-2013, UFAC Class 1 and NFPA 260
- Finish: Resilience TX, listed as stain resistant
- Backing: SBR
- Look: a subtle, low pile herringbone
KB Contract rates this fabric for restaurants, workspaces and senior living. A van interior sees daily wear too, so that rating is a good sign. Full specs are on the KB Contract Heyward page.
How Much Fabric Do I Need?
A full van takes 25-30 yards of fabric and 20-25 yards of 1/8" Landau foam. Fabric and Landau foam are sold separately by the yard, so order your Landau foam alongside the fabric. Grab the foam here: 1/8" Landau Upholstery Foam by the Yard.
Only doing accents? Order fewer yards and use Heyward upholstery fabric on window frames or a ceiling, then mix in a second color elsewhere. That's the whole point of buying fabric by the yard — you choose where each shade goes in your van interior.
Where It Fits in Your Build
Upholstery goes on after your wall and ceiling panels are cut. If you're building with our wall upholstery kit or a precut wall kit like the Ford Transit High Roof 148 wood wall kit, plan your fabric order around those panels. Want a different look? Compare Byrne Tweed upholstery fabric, Carlisle wool or Finnian wool, or browse all van interior kits. Building in a Ford Transit? Start with the yardage guide above.
Returns
NO RETURNS ON FABRIC/FOAM. Double-check your color and yardage before you order your Heyward upholstery fabric.
