The Ford Transit synthetic subfloor, our Premium Synthetic Subfloor System, is the most advanced floor we make. It is built from 100% inorganic materials for top durability, using high density 3/4 inch polyurethane foam reinforced with double fiberglass stringers, so it stands up to the rigors of van life.

How the Ford Transit Synthetic Subfloor Works

Unlike our standard insulated floor, this one sits on top of the van's ribs for better airflow and moisture management. It rides 3/4 inch above the ribs and works with the standard AVC RIG trim and step. Add your choice of flooring, such as marine vinyl or 2Tec2, and your van floor is done.

Installation

Installing the Ford Transit synthetic subfloor is simple with the included 3M 550 polyurethane adhesive. It gives you a 15 minute working time and a 60 minute skin time, so you can place each board precisely. We designed this system to be more forgiving for both pro and home builders, for a flawless finished floor.

Synthetic or Baltic Birch?

Choose the Ford Transit synthetic subfloor if you want a floor with no wood in it. It sits on top of the ribs for airflow and moisture management. Choose our Insulated Baltic Birch Subfloor if you prefer a classic wood base with polyiso insulation. Both work with the AVC RIG step and trim.
